Digital Art

New Media is defined as a "term to encompass the emergence of digital and computerized technologies. Most technologies described as "new media" are digital, often having characteristics of being manipulatable, compressible, interactive and impartial".

One of the main components of New Media has been Motion Graphics which is a subset of graphic design in that it uses graphic design principles in a film or video context (or other temporally evolving visual medium) through the use of animation or filmic techniques. Examples include the typography and graphics you see as the titles or opening sequences for videos and web-based animations.
